Could my child benefit from a speech and language assessment?

Speech and language therapy supports children to improve their communication in a range of different domains. Unsure whether your child could benefit? Take a look at some of the criteria below:

If your child experiences any of the below, a consult with a speech-language pathologist may be helpful:

People find your child hard to understand
Your child sounds ‘young’ compared to their peers
Your child mumbles or doesn’t finish their words
Your child finds it difficult to express their thoughts, wants, or experiences (e.g. telling you what they did at school)
Your child is over 2 years old and not using 50 different words
Your child consistently uses incorrect grammar
Your child primarily communicates using gesture or body language
